U.S. Supreme Court discards the murder case outlined ‘ Serial ‘ podcast
A man from Baltimore must stay behind bars for his former girlfriend from high school after the U.S. murder in 1999. Monday’s Supreme Court dismissed his request for a new trial in a case that caught public attention after the “Serial” podcast raised questions about his conviction.
Adnan Syed, 39, who served a life sentence since 2000 after being convicted of the strangling death of high school classmate Hae Min Lee, turned down an appeal by the judges. Despite the failure of his lawyer to properly defend him, Maryland’s highest court in March ruled out a new trial for Syed.
